Peeling

Ever wondered how to get that flawless skin and not go through any repeated sessions of skin rejuvenation? Chemical peeling or chemexfoliation, also known as derma peeling, works on the principle of improving the skin texture by applying a chemical solution to your skin!

A medicated chemical is applied to your skin after a thorough examination of your skin profile by our skin care experts. The dead and damaged skin eventually leaves the topmost layer of your skin, thus revealing the flawless fresh skin underneath. The fresh skin is wrinkle free, radiant and youthful. It is bright and has an even skin tone.

Who can opt for Peeling?

Peeling is an effective treatment for improving the skin texture and restoring an even skin tone. It can be done on your face, hands, or neck.

  • If you are suffering from fine lines or wrinkles caused by an inappropriate skin care routine or exposure to the sun, a genetic condition, or aging, then peeling can be a fast and effective solution for you!
  • If you are suffering from acne and mild scarring, then peeling can help reduce the spots and revive healthy glowing skin!

  • Clients with age spots, sun spots, liver spots, freckles, and uneven skin tone are advised to go for this fast and effective skin care treatment.
  • Rough, scaly skin with a dull complexion can be addressed with peeling for a dramatic result!
  • Dark patches of skin due to pregnancy or birth control pills can also be normalised using the peeling treatment.

Our clinicians first carry out a thorough skin examination to understand the depth of the existing skin issue and the desired results expected from the treatment. Based on common discussion, the clinician will suggest the appropriate peeling technique which will deliver satisfying results to our clients.

Dos and Don’ts for the Peeling treatment

Before the treatment, our clinicians brief our clients about the entire procedure and enlighten them about the effects and results expected from the treatment. Some general instructions that are advised are as listed:

  • Clients should avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for at least two weeks before each treatment to allow the natural skin to be revealed.
  • Our clinicians will recommend the application of topical products like hydroquinone to prepare the skin before the treatment.
  • Products containing retinoids should be strictly avoided at least one or two weeks prior to the day of the treatment as it may interfere with the chemicals used during the peeling process.
  • Clients are advised to take oral antibiotics or oral antiviral medicines at least 24 hours before the peeling treatment.
  • The peel area should not have any open sores, lesions, or active skin eruptions.

Our skin care experts will thoroughly clean your skin prior to the peeling treatment. The solution for peeling, which is tailored to suit your specific skin requirements, is applied to the area to be treated. You may experience a mild sensation which will be relieved by cool compressions. The chemical is then washed off to reveal a flawless, glowing skin underneath.

Types of Peeling

Lactic – Lactic peel is suitable for you if your skin is sensitive to some of the other chemical peels which can cause skin irritation. Lactic peel is a soothing, gentle chemical peel. It is derived from milk. It is not only gentle on the skin but also moisturises the skin after the peeling process.

Vitamin C peel – Free radicals accelerate skin aging! Free radicals are caused as a result of pollution, sun exposure, and cigarette smoking. Free radicals cause the skin to lose out on its elasticity, thereby disrupting the skin's shine and rendering loose saggy skin. The skin loses its inherent ability to shed the dead skin cells. The dead cells accumulate to give a dull and uneven skin appearance. Vitamin C peeling works magic on this skin and acts as an antioxidant, which prevents further oxidation of the skin by these free radicals! Vitamin C peeling can cleanse your clogged pores and provide an anti-bacterial defence mechanism. Vitamin C contains a mild bleaching agent which restores the skin’s even tone and helps in fading away the blemishes.

Salicylic – For beginners who have never had a chemical peel, the salicylic peel is the best chemical peel to begin with. Salicylic peel causes very little peeling of the skin. It is effective in lightening the skin’s pigmentation and improving the overall skin health and quality.

Glycolic – Glycolic chemical peeling is considered to be a deep cleanser and exfoliator. It penetrates into the skin the most and is best for the purpose of exfoliation. The penetration is facilitated by the small molecular structure of the glycolic acid that allows it to pass into the deep layers of the skin. It restores a healthy glow to the skin and minimises the effects of aging. The dead cells easily dissolve in the glycolic acid and slough off while rinsing the chemical peel. The clogged pores are cleared and opened, revealing a smoother, silky-soft skin! The amount of glycolic acid used depends on the skin condition and is determined after our clinician examines your skin.

NMF – NMF peel is known as the Natural Moisturising Factor peel. It comprises components that are used to treat xerotic or dry skin. It maintains adequate skin hydration while restoring the plasticity of the skin and protecting it from damage.

Yellow peel –  is one of the most effective treatments against pigmented skin issues. Pigmentation can be caused by exposure to the sun, ageing, scars, trauma, and inflammation. Yellow peel stimulates through the retinoic and acts as a blockade of endogenic melanin synthesis while removing the existing discolorations and preventing the development of new ones.

Black Peel – is a natural organic peel that is black vinegar based.  It comprises huge amounts of organic materials, minerals and concentrated vital amino acids. It can treat pimples, marks, and oily skin.

Party peel – is performed to give your facial skin an instant party, like radiant glowing skin. This gives the skin an even skin tone and improves the overall texture. It also restores hydration to the skin.

Bio-repeel – is a multiphase chemical peel that restores the skin texture, reduces fine lines and fades pigmentation.

Jessner – Jessner peels are slightly acidic in nature, which helps in flushing away the dirt and debris from the skin layer, thereby revealing a clear, beautiful skin underneath! A Jessner peel can help combat common skin issues like dark patches and age spots. It evens out uneven skin tone and gives you smooth, even skin! The wrinkles and fine lines are visibly reduced after the Jessner peeling. Scars, skin discoloration, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars fade away and are visibly reduced after the Jessner peel.

A Cosmelan peel procedure is used to reduce the surface pigment by targeting the source of the pigment. Cosmelan peeling helps in reducing melanin overproduction in the melanocyte.

Chemical peelings are considered safe and effective and require very little downtime for recovery. Exposure to sunlight and intense chemical products is strictly prohibited after the initial days of the treatment.
